For homeowners

Your home's app, from your builder.

If your builder uses Bindr Home, your new home comes with a private app: every room and product, your warranty, your documents, and a simple way to ask for service. Here is how it works.

In short

  • Your builder sets up your home's record and links your email address to it; you will get a welcome email in your builder's name.
  • Sign in at bindrhome.com with that email address and a one-time code sent to you. No app store and no password to remember.
  • Inside: every room and product, your warranty with its end dates, your documents, seasonal care, service requests and Hearth.
  • Your builder decides what is covered; the app helps you ask, follow the repair and keep the record.
  • The record stays with the house, so it passes to the next owner if you sell.

Getting in

Your builder sets up your home's record and links your email address to it. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to download.

  1. 1

    Watch for the welcome email

It comes in your builder's name when your home is ready for you, with the address to open.

  2. 2

    Enter your email

Open bindrhome.com, choose Sign in and enter the email address your builder has for you.

  3. 3

    Type the code

A one-time code arrives by email. There is no password to remember; you can set one later if you prefer.

  4. 4

    Keep it on your phone

On an iPhone, Share then Add to Home Screen; on Android, the browser menu then Add to home screen. It opens like an app.

What is inside

Your own home, room by room, in your builder's name. Nobody else's home, and nothing about anyone else.

  • Home

How long your current coverage has left, what needs your attention, and what is new since your last visit.

  • Rooms and products

Every product in every room, with brand, model, serial number, install date, manuals and warranty, ready to copy.

  • Finishes

Paint names and codes, flooring, tile and grout, and where the touch-up materials were left.

  • Your warranty

Each coverage period of your builder's warranty with the date it ends, and every product's own warranty beside it.

  • Is it covered?

Ask about anything in the home and see your builder's notes, the dates and the product's warranty. Your builder decides.

  • Documents

Your closeout documents and manuals, your own uploads, and a printable copy of the whole package.

  • Care

Seasonal checks, maintenance that is due, product registrations, shut-off locations and a log of what you have done.

  • Hearth

An assistant that answers from your home's own record and manuals, and says so when it is giving general guidance.

When something needs fixing

In an emergency, such as a gas smell, a carbon monoxide alarm, fire or flooding, leave the home if you need to and call the emergency number first. Your builder's emergency lines are in the app, under Contacts.

For everything else, start a request from the room and the product. Add photos, say how urgent it is and which mornings or afternoons you are home. Your builder's office takes it from there, and you can follow it like a parcel: received, booked, done. When a visit is booked you are emailed the date and window, reminded the day before, and can confirm it or ask for another time. If a repair you closed comes back within 30 days, you can reopen it with a note.

Your information

Your home's record is seen by you and your builder's team. Each builder's homes are kept apart from every other builder's in the database itself.

Your chats with Hearth are saved so you can come back to them, and you can delete any of them. Your builder's office cannot read your chats; it sees only the wording of questions Hearth could not answer, without your name or address, so it can write the answer. The Privacy Policy explains all of this in plain English.

If you sell the home

The record belongs to the house. A transfer certificate passes the warranty history to the next owner, and you can share a read-only copy of the record with an inspector, an insurer or a buyer without giving them your sign-in.

Questions people ask

I did not get a welcome email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder for a message in your builder's name. If it is not there, ask your builder's office to confirm the email address they have linked to your home; you sign in with that address.

Can I sign up for Bindr Home myself?

No. Bindr Home is set up by home builders for the homes they build. Your builder's office links you to your home.

Is Bindr Home my warranty company?

No. Your warranty comes from your builder, or from the warranty provider your builder uses. Bindr Home is the app your builder uses to keep your home's record and handle your requests; your builder decides what is covered.

Is the app available in French?

Yes, if your builder offers it: the app, Hearth and the emails you receive can be in Canadian French, and you can choose your own language.

Who do I contact about a repair?

Your builder, through the app. Start a request from the room and the product, or use the emergency lines in Contacts if it cannot wait.
