Bindr Home

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 17, 2026

In short: Bindr Home is the software your builder uses to keep your home's record and handle service requests. It is not your builder, a trade or a warranty provider. What the app shows is a summary; your warranty documents are what govern. In an emergency, call 911 or your utility first.

Who these terms are for

These terms apply to everyone who uses Bindr Home: homeowners, buyers following a home being built for them, the staff of a builder, and trades who use a link a builder sent them. By using the app you agree to them. A builder that has a written agreement with Bindr Home is also bound by that agreement, and where the two differ for the builder, that agreement applies.

What Bindr Home is, and is not

Bindr Home is provided to homeowners through the builder of their home, who administers the account and the information in it. Bindr Home is a software platform. It is not your builder, a contractor, a supplier or a warranty provider: it does not inspect your home, perform repairs, or decide whether something is covered.

The warranty coverage, dates and terms shown in the app are a summary for your convenience. Your purchase agreement, your warranty certificate and each manufacturer's own warranty documents govern; where they differ from what is shown in the app, those documents are what apply. Reminders in the app are a help, not a guarantee that a deadline will be flagged.

Hearth, the assistant in the app, answers from your home's record, your builder's content and general guidance on looking after a home. Its answers are information to help you, not advice from your builder, a promise of coverage or an instruction to do work, and they can be wrong. Check anything that matters with your builder, and in an emergency call 911 or your builder's emergency line. A service request you send after a chat is yours, exactly as if you had typed it.

If your builder offers paid repairs or a maintenance plan, the agreement and the payment are between you and your builder; Bindr Home shows the quote and, where the builder takes cards, hands the payment to Stripe. Your sign-off at key day, typed and drawn on the builder's phone, is your signature on that inspection record. Signing off a repair in the app, where your builder asks for it, is your signature that you reviewed the work shown and are satisfied with it; if you are not, say so in the app instead.

Your account and your link

  • Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what is done under your account.
  • Tell your builder right away if you think someone else has access to it.
  • Give accurate information, and keep your phone number current so the people handling a request can reach you.
  • If you are a trade: your link is for your business only. Anyone who has it can see and update the work assigned to you, so do not forward it, and tell the builder if it has gone astray so they can turn it off.
  • If you work for a builder: use the access your role gives you for your builder's business only.
  • If your builder's office makes API keys or connects its own software: keep the keys secret, turn off any that may have leaked, and remember that what that software receives is then in your builder's hands.

Service requests

When you send a request, the description, your photos, your contact details and the times that suit you go to your builder and to the trade or team member they assign, so they can act on it. Sending a request does not book a visit and does not by itself mean the work is covered; that depends on your warranty terms. Response times are set by your builder and the trade, not by Bindr Home.

Bindr Home is not an emergency service. If there is danger to people or property, such as a smell of gas, sparks or burning, or water you cannot stop, call 911 or your utility first, then tell your builder.

What you put into the app

Photos, notes, documents and messages you add remain yours. You give Bindr Home and your builder permission to store them and show them to the people handling your home, for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. Only add things you have the right to share, and nothing unlawful or abusive.

A survey answer is yours too. Your builder may publish a comment on its public reviews page only if you agreed to that when you answered, under the short name you chose.

Acceptable use

  • Use the app for its purpose: your own home, or your work for a builder.
  • Do not try to reach another person's or another builder's information.
  • Do not interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or load it with automated requests.
  • Do not use it in a way that could harm your builder, another user or Bindr Home.

We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other people at risk.

Trades, manufacturers and other third parties

The app shows trades, manufacturers and warranty providers and may link to their documents or websites. They are independent of Bindr Home. Their work, their products and their warranties are their responsibility.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the app available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and features may change as the app is improved. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by an outage, or by information that a builder, a trade or a user entered incorrectly.

Limits on our responsibility

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Bindr Home is not liable for property damage, injury or other loss arising from a repair, a missed or delayed response, a coverage decision, or anything else done or not done by a builder, a trade or a manufacturer; and it is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have under consumer protection law.

When access ends

Your builder can remove your access, for example when a home is sold: the home's record then passes to the new owner. You can stop using the app at any time and ask for your account to be removed, as described in the Privacy Policy. These terms continue to apply to anything that happened while you used the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from these terms or your use of Bindr Home are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manitoba.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes, and the date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Bindr Home after an update means you accept the current terms.
